This product is 1 Gallon of RGS - Root Growth Stimulant with sea kelp and humic acid - our primary bio-stimulant offering for use in lawns and landscapes. Formulated by John Perry of Greene County Fertilizer Co.

If you are new to spraying liquids, this is a great one to start with - don't have fear of liquid applications - they won't "burn" the lawn or anything like that - and RGS is the best to start with any way since it aids in soil health and stimulates roots in turf.

If you have challenges with your grass holding on during summer heat, getting RGS into the soil will help it through the stress.

Root Growth Bio-Stimulant
We have worked hard to make this option available, and so have our partners at GCF investing in equipment that allows a better seal on the bottle because single gallons will get tossed around much more handily than did the 4 or 5 gallon boxes so a better seal was needed. That is now in place so we feel better about your single gallon getting to you intact!

N-Ext RGS with Humic Acid and Sea Kelp

N-Ext RGS™ Liquid Root Growth Stimulant is designed to increase rooting and decrease stress pressure caused by heat and drought. It will also feed microbial life in the soil which helps to optimize your fertilizer treatments.

"N-Ext" is the name of this line of products and N-Ext stands for "Nitrogen Extension." RGS, Root Growth Stimulant, is kind of like the the "base layer" of that line because it contains humic acid and sea kelp.

The biologically active material contains Humic Acid and Sea Kelp to aid in initial spring green up, to buffer and extend nitrogen release rates, and to add oxygen to the soil profile for greater nutrient uptake.

RGS - Stands for Root Growth Stimulant and that’s exactly what it does.

This product is packed with hormones from sea kelp that stimulate roots and stolons/rhizomes coupled with chelating Humic Acid.

It’s truly the backbone of the Bio-Stim program, hands down, and has the highest concentration of Sea Kelp hormones in the line.

It’s never a bad time to apply RGS to your soil. If you want to stimulate roots, rhizomes and/or stolons (depending on grass type) then RGS is the best place to start!

Product can be applied as often as monthly and should be watered in so it gets into the soil.

The recommended application rate is 3 oz per 1,000 sq ft.

1 gallon = 128 oz

2.5 gallons = 320 oz

5 gallons = 640 oz

At the app rate of 3 oz/1,000 sq ft, you will get:

  • 42,600 sq ft of coverage from a single gallon
  • 106,600 sq ft of coverage from a 2.5-gallon jug
  • 213,300 sq ft of coverage from the full 5 gallons

Pricing Comparison

5 gallons of RGS costs $123 - $24.60/gallon

(includes shipping)

4 gallons of RGS costs $102 - $25.50/gallon (includes shipping)

1 gallon of RGS (this listing) costs $34.99 (includes shipping)

This is due to shipping rates. Carriers charge less "per pound" for heavier weights in a single box compared to lesser weights in a single box. To put it simply, shipping is on average cheaper for 4 gallons than for a single gallon by weight.

If you only need one gallon, you are still getting MASSIVE VALUE!

Better Value Than Competitors

There are other suppliers offering liquid sea kelp and humic products charging $48-$68 for a single gallon of their formulation.
